11 Am: Toddler Time with Miss Rae- This class is open to children ages 1-3. Sing a song, listen to a story and enjoy a fun activity. Class size is limited. Please pre-register.
3 Pm: Friday Fun Days- Every Friday @ 3 PM
June 20th—Summer reading kick off party- Kick off summer reading with a Moana
Luau! Join us for a fun afternoon of crafts, activities, snacks, and register for
summer reading!
June 27th—Rain Ready- Meet Miss Rain Day 2023 and the contestants for this
year’s pageant as they read us stories about rain. You will even make a rain stick
to take home.
July 4th—CLOSED
July 11th—The Bug Lady- a meet and greet of creatures from the insect world.
Come get up close and personal different spiders and bugs!
July 18th—Color Our World Magic Show-Steve Harberman. Returns this year for
a new exciting magic show!
July 25th—Bluey Party- Join us for a fun filled afternoon with everyone’s favorite
Australian Blue Healer as we play keepy-uppy and more Bluey inspired games.
We will also have Bluey inspired treats and maybe even Bluey herself will make
an appearance!
August 1st—Crafty Alpaca- Mary from the Crafty Alpca will be on site with an Alpaca!
She will talk to us about care, feeding and uses of the alpaca. All ages
Thursdays - June 26-July 31
Thursday mornings Flenniken will be at the parks to meet with the children in the summer program.
3pm:Teen Thursdays- Hang with friends, do crafts, and eat pizza!
4 Pm: High School Reading Competition Book Club- Get a jump start on the 2026
GCLS Reading Competition. Each week a different book will be discussed. This class is for students going into grades 9-12. Make sure to stop in a grab the complete list
for 2026!
Mondays - June 23-July 28
1 Pm: Middle School Mondays- Grades 6-8. Take time to get together with your friends while engaging in crafts and activities with older kids in mind.
2 Pm: Middle School Reading Competition Book Club- Get a jump start on next year’s GCLS Reading Competition! Stop in to pick up the 2026 list. Each week a new book will be discussed along with activities. This is open to all children who will be in grades 6-8 in the fall.

Summer Reading Challenge
June - August
Saturdays - June 21-August 2
10 am:Lego Play!- Stop in to create wit the library Lego sets. You can build chal-
lenges or simply create! While you are here, make sure to pick up a summer
reading record and check out non-fiction books for the Lego Challenge to win
you own Lego set!
12 pm:Saturday Matinee-drop by for popcorn and a movie! Check out our Face-
book for weekly updates movies!
Non-Fiction Lego Challenge
June 7–August 23
Keep track of the non-fiction titles you read this summer to win a Lego set.
There will be 5 sets, one for each age group (Toddlers-Kindergarten, 1st –2nd
Grade, 3rd-5th Grade, Middle School, High School). Just indicate on your
reading record which titles are non-fiction. Children with the highest number
of minutes spent reading non-fiction books will win! Sets are on display at the library. Reading Records are due by August 23rd. Winners will be announced August 26th.
*Siblings are not to share Reading Records! This is an individual challenge.
Special Events
Saturday, June 7th @11 AM-Tiny Tim Tomatoes Join Master gardener John Areford to learn about tomatoes and take home your very own plant! Ages 0-12.
Saturday, August 2nd @11 AM-The Good Zoo at Oglebay will be here to introduce us to
some new animal friends! We will get to meet several different animals that live at
the zoo. All ages
Summer Quest 2025 Color Our World
Wednesdays - June 25-July 30
11 Am: Grades 3-5- Keep your brain working this summer! Each week we will do an activity, listen to a story and get messy with experiments.
12 pm:Lunch Bunch with Rachel-
Grades 3-5. Space is limited to 10 children. This summer we will be reading Manatee Summer by Evan Grifith while eating lunch and doing a craft. Registration is required. Each child will receive a copy of the book to keep.
1 Pm: Grades 1-2- Keep your brain working this summer! Each week we will do an activity, listen to a story and get messy with experiments.
3pm:Dungeons and Dragons Club- come campaign with our high school DND group (this usually runs till we close!) Snacks are provided.
Tuesdays - June 24-July 29
11 Am: Story Time with Miss Rae- We will sing a song, create a masterpiece and learn social skills! This class for children ages 3-5. Class size is limited, must preregister.
1 pm: Kindergarten with Miss Rae- This class is designed for those children entering Kindergarten this Fall. Listen to a story, sing a song, and make a craft and help with the transition to school.
5 Pm: Family Game Night- Take some time to relax with friends and family for a night of board game fun!
