11 Am: Toddler Time with Miss Rae- This class is open to children ages 1-3. Sing a song, listen to a story and enjoy a fun activity. Class size is limited. Please pre-register.

June 19th @2pmSummer reading kick off party- Kick off summer reading with The Pittsburgh Zoomobile! Join us for a fun afternoon of crafts, activities, snacks, and register for summer reading!

Rain Ready- Meet Miss Rain Day 2025 and the contestants for this
year’s pageant as they read us stories about rain. You will even make a rain stick
to take home.


July 3rd @3pm
Unearth A Story Magic Show- Steve Harberman. Returns this year for a new exciting maic show!


July 1oth @3pm
Farm Animals- there are some exciting local animals coming to the Library to meet you! Crafty Alpaca Returns, too! All Ages


July 17th @2pm
The Bug Lady- a meet and greet of creatures from the insect world.
Come get up close and personal different spiders and bugs!


July 25th @3pm
Disney Friday- Join us for a fun filled afternoon with everyone’s favorite
Disney Characters! We'll put on a movie, do some coloring, and crafts!


August 1st@3pm
Oglebay Good Zoo- Will be here to introduce us to some new animal friends! We will get to meet several different animals that live at the zoo. All Ages

Thursday mornings Flenniken will be at the parks to meet with the children in the summer program.


1pm:Middle School Thursdays- Hang with friends, do fun crafts with the cricut, 3D printer, clay, paint, ink stamping, and sun art.

11 Am: Movie Mondays- We'll be showing classic historical referenced movies! Check out our Facebook for weekly movie announcements! All ages​​


12:30 Pm: American Lunch- Join us every week for an American Lunch of Hot Dogs and Chips!


1:30 Pm: History- Guest speakers each week will talk about different points across the history of the United States. to kick-off the series, Alan Irvine will be sharing American Folktales!


3 Pm: Crafts- Come and make patriotic crafts with us! We'll Make suncatchers, windchimes, magnets, and more!

​​​​​​​​​Non-Fiction Lego Challenge


June 6–August 22

Keep track of the non-fiction titles you read this summer to win a Lego set.
There will be 5 sets, one for each age group (Toddlers-Kindergarten, 1st –2nd
Grade, 3rd-5th Grade, Middle School, High School). Just indicate on your
reading record which titles are non-fiction. Children with the highest number
of minutes spent reading non-fiction books will win! Sets are on display at the library. Reading Records are due by August 22nd. Winners will be announced September 1st.


*Siblings are not to share Reading Records! This is an individual challenge.


Special Events
Saturday, June 1st-August 1st-
 America's 250th Art Show- $5 Entry, receive an easel and canvas. Create something American! All mediums accepted - NO AI - Must be original work. Submission due by August 1st. We'll host a community art show all of August for voting-winners announced September 4th. All Ages.


Saturday, June 6th @11AM
-Tiny Tim Tomatoes Join Master gardener John Areford to learn about tomatoes and take home your very own plant! Ages 0-12.


Saturday, July 30th @6-8PM-Pool Party at Monview! Entry is free to all patrons who turn in their reading records and have read at least 3 hours.

Saturday, August 8th @7PM AM-Wild Things Baseball Game Buy your 11.50 tickets on our website, half the ticket cost goes to us!

Summer Quest        2026       Unearth a Story

Wednesdays​ - June 24-July 29


11 Am:​ Grades 3-5- Keep your brain working this summer! Each week we will do an activity, listen to a story and get messy with experiments.


12 pm:Lunch Bunch with Rachel- 

Grades 3-5. Space is limited to 10 children. This summer we will be reading I Survived The Bombing of Pearl Harbor, 1941 by Lauren Tarshis while eating lunch and doing a craft. Registration is required. Each child will receive a copy of the book to keep.


1 Pm:Grades 1-2- Keep your brain working this summer! Each week we will do an activity, listen to a story and get messy with experiments.


5pm:Lego Play!- Stop in to create with the library Lego sets. You can build challenges or simply create! While you are here, make sure to pick up a summer reading record and check out non-fiction books for the Lego Challenge to win your own Lego set!

Tuesdays​ - June 23-July 28


11 Am:Story Time with Miss Rae- We will sing a song, create a masterpiece and learn social skills! This class for children ages 3-5. Class size is limited, Must Preregister.


1 pm:​  Kindergarten with Miss Rae- This class is designed for those children entering Kindergarten this Fall. Listen to a story, sing a song, and make a craft and help with  the transition to school.


3 Pm: Dungeons and Dragons Club- Come campaign with our high school DND group (thus usually runs until we close!) Snacks are provided.
