Local Ghost Stories

Everyone thinks that Carmichaels and the surrounding towns are boring little towns, but who knows what kind of ghosts may be lurking about after some of these local tragedies.*

Time - Early Spring 1770

Place - Elias Flenniken farm, Jocky Hollow

Mr. C was returning from the Crawford farm, after borrowing a churn.  He was riding home distracted with the thought of the sweet, salty butter that he was soon to enjoy from the churn.  Just then his horse reared.  In the distance his horse had heard the sounds of approaching hooves.  Before he knew it, Mr. C* was face to face with a group of renegade horsemen that had recently been on a raid!  They demanded his horse for their wounded friend, but he was not going to be bullied.  They struggled.  The horsemen left his body next to the churn, with a fresh bullethole and a bloody scalp.

More recently some members of the Flenniken family left money to build a local library.  There is a rumor that if you are in the library at night, after everyone else is gone, you can hear footsteps roaming through the library.  Could it be Mr. C looking to get home with his butter churn. Or is it just a mouse.  You decide.
