Keyword Search
One of the easiest searches to do is a keyword search. You can type any information into the search box, and then highlight the keyword search button. This will do a search for any information that is in the computer about the book. Some books do not have much information in the computer except for the title, and author. But the computer will always have at least the title, and the author of the book.
Title Search
Sometimes when you search by keyword you will get a lot of different books. To limit the amount of results you get if you know the title you can do a title search. To do a title search, type in the title of a book-but do not type in "a", "an", or "the" at the beginning of a title. Then click the button by "title" and click on the "search" button.
Author Search
If you want a list of everything that we own by an author, do an author search. To do an author search, type in the last name of the author first. If you know the author's first name then type a comma, a space and the authors first name. Then click the button by author and click on the search button.
Subject Search
If you want to do a really specific search, you can do a subject search. A subject search will look at all of the titles in the computer, and will only show titles where your subject matches a subject already in the record. Be careful with this search-a record can have something in its title, but not in the subject. If this happens you will not get any results. If you do not get any results with this search try a keyword search. To do a subject search type in the subject you want to know more about. Then click the button by "subject" and click on the "search" button.
